Painting Around Trim (Cutting In)

It is difficult to demonstrate this with out either a video or at least some photos.  We will get that incorporated on the website in the future.

Interior painting around trim is probably the hardest for an inexperienced painter to learn.  Practice and patience are needed.

First load the brush with a good amount of paint then apply the brush to the wall close to the trim.  Fan the bristles to create an oval shape and move the brush parallel to the trim moving the edge of the fanned bristles to the edge of the trim.  If you are getting a good straight line, keep going until the paint runs out of the brush.

The Purdy Corporation (paint brush manufacturer) has a good demonstration of this on their website.
